Made from and powered by the Stars
We start our journey with us: you and me. How do we work? By understanding how we work as individuals we can then see how pairs of people work, then groups and from there where leaders fit in.
First things first – what makes up a human
You and I are very similar not just in the fact we are both human but at the elemental level we, and the vast majority of life on Earth are made from the same basic materials or elements. These elements composed of three atomic parts: 1) a positively charged proton with a mass of 1, 2) a neutral charge neutron also with a mass of around 1, and, 3) a negatively charged electron with a virtually no mass at all in comparison to the proton. The electron, is found on the outside of the atom with the proton and neutron found in the middle or the nucleus. This arrangement means that electrons can be lost from an atom leaving is positively charged or if gained negatively charged. As the neutron does have a charge and so doesn’t give the element any property we arrange elements based on the number of protons (and therefore electons as well) to create a table of elements. These elements make up everything in the visible universe including us as physical beings plus all the things about us including our emotions that create relationships between things.
From the 83 stable elements found on Earth 11 elements make up 99.9% of a healthy human. These are, in order of mass:
- Oxygen (O) – 65%
- Carbon (C) – 18.5%
- Hydrogen (H) – 9.5%
- Nitrogen (N) – 3.2%
- Calcium (Ca) – 1.5%
- Phosphorus (P) – 1.0%
- Potassium (K) – 0.4%
- Sulphur (S) – 0.3%
- Sodium (Na) – 0.2%
- Chlorine (Cl) – 0.2%
- Magnesium (Mg) – 0.1%
- Other (other) – < 0.1% (trace elements)
The reason why 75% of you is due to the crucial compound of hydrogen and oxygen to create water. Water makes up roughly 60% of your weight with key organs such as the brain being 75% water. The next biggy is carbon that makes your energy stores and works hand-in-hand with nitrogen to create your organs through the creation of proteins.
The last big player will put a smile on your face and a skip in your step as Calcium gives your bones strength to support you when you up and about trying to live up-right.
Phosphorus is like a battery as it helps to store and then convert fuels to energy sources in a molecule called ATP (adenosine triphosphate). This energy is used to move the body through muscular contraction but also to send messages through easily charged particles (positive and negatively charged).
The elements that can be charged and decharged are potassium, sodium (both can be positively charged), and chlorine (negatively charged). The ability to move charged particles mainly through these fundamental elements is a crucial factor to life – when you stuff feeling charge then that’s you done as that’s how the brain works.
There are many other trace elements that you will find in fancy things like enzymes but the vast majority of how you operate is in these 11 elements. These elements make up you, me, all your followers and all the other leaders that have and will lived on this planet. Leaders are not made they are trained.
Note: these are the naturally occuring atoms. People can take in other elements if they wish. Some can be beneficial in the form of medicines notably lithium that can work in the brain as it is charged and tiny. Others and probably the minority are detrimental to health – poisonous. The reason for the poisionous nature is either through interference of specific biological pathway or through cell destruction. Many elements don’t do anything as they are inert.
Elemental biological block – DNA
The beauty of how atoms have the perfect properties to make us amazing is taken further when we look at what makes us the beings that we are the genus and species Homo sapien. The thing that seperates us from other animals is the unique combination of atoms that provide the instructions on how to build a person. The instructions are laid down in a code called DNA standing for deoxyribonucleic acid
